About The Position

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Agro Clerk to join their team part-time temporary with 24 hours per week or more, at their St. Paul Home Centre location. This position will be covering a Maternity Leave and reports to the Agro Manager. The role involves delivering outstanding service to member-owners and customers, assisting with livestock feed, pet food, and related supplies, and maintaining department standards including inventory, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and product displays. The Agro Clerk will also operate the point-of-sale system, receive and unload shipments, load bulk items, support store presentation, and adhere to safety and operational procedures. Requirements

  • You have Grade 10 education or equivalent retail and/or customer service experience.
  • You’re a willing learner in a fast-moving environment.
  • You’re physically able to lift, push, pull and carry 50 lbs or more. Loads exceeding 50 lbs will be managed with lifting equipment or assistance in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • You can stand and move throughout your shift, including walking, bending, and reaching, while staying active with tasks such as assisting customers, unloading freight and stocking shelves.
  • You’re action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members.

  • You believe in collaboration and value diverse perspectives to solve problems and achieve common goals.

  • Farm and Feed knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding service by engaging with member-owners and customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Assist customers in selecting livestock feed, pet food, and related supplies, and provide basic product information.
  • Maintain department standards, including inventory control, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and product displays.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
  • Receive and unload shipments, ensuring all incoming products are verified and properly stored.
  • Load feed, minerals, and other bulk items into customer vehicles as needed.
  • Support overall store presentation by completing housekeeping tasks and ensuring carts are collected and available.
  • Adhere to all safety, maintenance, and operational procedures.
  • Be available for a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that align with and support the Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and brand.
  • Adhere to the Safety Management and Asset Protection systems, policies, procedures, records, and training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
