About The Position

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking a detail-oriented, intermittent part-time Field / Phone Enumerator to support their organization. This role involves collecting agricultural data on behalf of the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). NASDA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit association representing agricultural leaders from all fifty states and U.S. territories, dedicated to growing and enhancing American agriculture. Founded in 1916, NASDA has employed enumerators since 1972 to gather vital agricultural statistics. The organization strives to create a positive work environment for employees passionate about agriculture.

Requirements

Experience multitasking in an energetic, deadline-oriented work environment.
Ability to positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions.
Ability to make crop counts in designated fields.
Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle.
Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals.
Knowledge about computers or iPads.
Candidates must reside within the advertised State (MO).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate good time management in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated.
Enjoy working as part of a team.
Organized.
Ability to maintain a positive and friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

Interview farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses in person or on the phone.
Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts.
Maintain and deliver detailed and legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.
Conduct enumerator work from a residence with an operable telephone free from distractions.
Maintain a personal vehicle for travel to perform field enumerator duties.
