About The Position

AbbyBank is seeking an Agricultural Loan Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong agricultural background who are interested in learning the lending side of the business. The bank will provide training in banking and lending skills to help the candidate succeed in supporting farmers and agribusinesses. The position involves developing relationships with clients, learning agricultural lending practices, collaborating with the Credit Administration team, conducting on-site visits, meeting sales goals, and participating in professional development.

Requirements

Agricultural experience is required. This may include farming, dairy, livestock, crop production, agronomy, ag sales, equipment, or other agribusiness experience.
Strong analytical and attention to detail skills, with ability to evaluate financial information.
Strong interest in sales with ability to identify opportunities and connect customers with financial solutions.
Excellent communication and enjoys building relationships and pursuing business opportunities.
A passion for supporting local communities and helping agricultural businesses succeed.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop lasting relationships with farmers, producers, and agribusiness owners by learning about their operations and understanding their financial goals.
Work alongside experienced lenders in loan origination, credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management.
Collaborate with the Credit Administration team to structure loans beneficially for both the customer and the bank, while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Conduct on-site visits to understand customer operations, verify collateral, and ensure the success of existing credits.
Meet sales and production goals while delivering exceptional customer service.
Participate in training and professional development to become a trusted agricultural lender.
