Responsible for conducting agricultural credit analyses, including gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational credit information on existing and prospective farm, ranch, and agribusiness customers and portfolios. The data collected may include farm financial statements, tax returns (including Schedule F), cash flow projections, depreciation schedules, collateral valuations (land, livestock, equipment), credit reports, commodity and market data, and industry and regional agricultural research. Inputs the data gathered into tracking and/or reporting computer systems and/or databases. Prepares and presents agricultural credit analyses and recommendations to person(s) responsible for making lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans, including operating lines, equipment, real estate, and other agribusiness financing. In some areas, this position may make credit decisions in a high-volume production environment. Monitors customer accounts and agricultural loan portfolios to identify potential issues related to cash flow volatility, commodity price fluctuations, weather impacts, and operational risk, thereby maximizing credit quality and minimizing the company’s credit risk and potential loss. Sets up and maintains databases used to analyze agricultural accounts and/or portfolios. Prepares and presents credit reports to person(s) responsible for maintaining control over the credit standings of individual accounts and portfolios. Generally furnishes information relative to agricultural credit inquiries to appropriate parties.
