About The Position

This position supports the Aging Studies program at CSUF. The student assistant will be involved in outreach and recruitment, curriculum and innovation support, and marketing and promotion activities. This role requires a current CSUF student who is in good academic standing and authorized to work in the United States. The position is based in California.

Requirements

Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
Ability to follow oral instructions.
Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
Ability to read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Canva or similar design tools.
Experience updating websites.
Experience with social media management.
Experience tracking engagement data.

Responsibilities

Assist with tabling at campus events, information sessions, and community fairs.
Help prepare and distribute flyers, brochures, and digital outreach materials.
Track and follow up on student inquiries about the Aging Studies Program.
Maintain contact lists of prospective students and community partners.
Provide clerical support to faculty.
Assist staff with organizing instructional resources (e.g., PowerPoints, handouts).
Assist staff with testing and provide feedback on new teaching tools (e.g., Canvas features, interactive activities).
Design posts and visuals for social media campaigns using Canva or similar tools.
Update the program’s website with current events, announcements, and program highlights.
Assist staff with drafting short promotional blurbs or student spotlight features for newsletters.
Track engagement data (e.g., social media insights, event participation) and provide summaries.
