About The Position

This is a merit hire position. The hourly rate for this position is $20.20 per hour. This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement. Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Aging Care Manager 2. This position may develop care plans for older adult consumers through an evaluation of the consumer’s social contacts and supports, their activities of daily living, status of their cognitive function, their physical health, and their economic and other resources. The Aging Care Manager 2 develops and maintains professional relationships with social service agencies and other community resources to meet the needs of clients and to ensure an appropriate continuum of client care. The Aging Care Manager 2 is supervised by the Aging Care Management Supervisor 1.

Requirements

  • Six months of experience as an Aging Care Manager 1, County Caseworker 1, or County Social Casework Intern.
  • Or one year of experience in public or private social work and a bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 semester hours credit in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.
  • Or a bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major.
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours credit in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences. One year of experience in public or private social work is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
  • Favorable criminal background check at the time of hire.
  • Favorable child abuse clearances at the time of hire.
  • Favorable FBI clearances at the time of hire.
  • Favorable references at the time of hire.
  • Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or an alternative form of identification if not eligible for a PA driver's license and driving is not an essential function).
