About The Position

This is a merit hire position with an hourly rate of $22.94. Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a full-time, day shift Aging Care Management Supervisor 1. This role involves supervising Care Managers and Case Aides, coordinating client services, assisting with employee training, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and county laws and regulations. The position requires supervision through case reviews, individual and staff meetings, and joint home visits to maintain quality assurance and adherence to regulations and policies. The supervisor also oversees the Family Caregiver Support Program, monitors budgets for expenditure rates and waiting list needs, and assists in developing care management, quality assurance, and training activities. Staff performance evaluation and training are key responsibilities, as is monitoring data management activities with the Data Manager. The role includes supervising on-call Protective Services workers and other Care Management staff as needed, and participating in the hiring process for Care Managers and Case Aides. The Aging Care Management Supervisor 1 works with considerable independence under the supervision of the Aging Care Management Supervisor 3.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in public or private social work.
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.
  • A valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
  • A favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references.
  • Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or an alternative if driving is not essential and eligibility for PA license is an issue).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Care Managers and Case Aides providing care management to Area Agency on Aging clients.
  • Provides supervision through case review, individual meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Conducts joint home visits with staff to ensure adherence to quality assurance, PA Department of Aging regulations, and Agency policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP).
  • Monitors state and federal budgets for rate of expenditure and determination of a need for a waiting list.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of care management, quality assurance, and training activities.
  • Evaluates and develops staff performance.
  • Performs staff training activities.
  • Monitors, jointly with the Data Manager, the appropriateness, adequacy, and accuracy of the Unit’s data management activities.
  • Supervises on-call Protective Services workers on a rotating basis and other Care Management staff as needed.
  • Participates in the hiring of Aging Care Managers and Case Aides.
