As an Agile Program Manager (APM) you will support, facilitate and guide the software product development efforts of the organization or value stream for which you are responsible. You are the “glue” that ensures close collaboration between Product Management, Engineering and User Experience to deliver high value software products and solutions to the market. You also ensure close cross-functional collaboration with the value stream partners including Support, Marketing, Operations, Education, Technical Information and Technical Consulting during product/solution deployment and go-to-market activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering and 5+ years of related experience or Masters degree in Engineering and 3+ years of related experience
  • Agile Project or Agile Program Management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Experience with leadership by Influence
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Broadcom Rally Application Lifecycle Management and Broadcom Clarity Project and Portfolio Management Software knowledge is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred
  • Agile Certification (PMI-ACP) / Scrum Master (CSM) Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Defining the Agile Planning process for their value stream and ensuring that the process is followed. Scheduling and facilitating key planning meetings to determine upcoming software product development plans (typically quarterly).
  • Organizing Executive Reviews quarterly for their organization or value stream to provide leadership with a summary of execution results, plans for the next quarter, and insights into future initiatives.
  • Tracking work item progress and completion to ensure timely delivery of high-value software products and solutions while adhering to Agile principles. Scheduling and facilitating key execution status meetings, preparing and sharing progress reports, and tracking Milestones, managing associated risks, changes, dependencies, and issues.
  • Running Agile Retrospectives for continuous improvement of Agile Project Management practices, including Agile Planning and Execution, focusing on time savings, efficiency, waste elimination, driving better behaviors, and gathering meaningful insights and metrics.
  • Collaborating with the Agile Coach to promote Agile principles, practices, and behaviors, potentially providing Agile coaching for organization or value stream leadership.
  • Bringing the organization or value stream leadership team together regularly to address issues inhibiting success by formulating action plans, and working with the “4-in-a-box” leadership team (Product Management Solution Lead, Engineering Director, Lead Architect, User Experience Director) to provide reports, metrics, and insights, and collaborating on special projects and initiatives.
  • Bringing together the organization or value stream leadership team with cross-functional partners (Support, Marketing, Operations, Education, Technical Information, Technical Consulting) on a regular cadence (usually monthly) to inform them of initiatives and plans for delivering software products and solutions, enabling them to integrate their activities for high customer satisfaction and business success.
  • Coordinating activities and checklists required for successful software product or solution deployments and go-to-market initiatives, including facilitating cross-functional working group meetings and executive reviews.
