About The Position

Flexion is seeking an Agile Collaboration Coach with a passion for improving team collaboration. This part-time, remote role involves embedding with a team to observe, identify areas for coaching, and facilitate collaborative practices such as ensembling/mob programming and pairing. The coach will also explore how these practices evolve in an AI-assisted development environment, help teams overcome collaboration challenges, and provide feedback to leadership. The role is approximately 10 hours per week to start, with the scope of engagement discovered collaboratively with the team.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
Extensive, hands-on experience coaching agile teams, with deep expertise in ensembling/mob programming and collaborative software development practices
A track record of helping teams build stronger collaboration habits without imposing a one-size-fits-all process
Strong facilitation and communication skills, both in small team settings and in front of larger audiences
Comfort working in a self-directed, autonomy-driven environment where the scope of engagement is discovered collaboratively rather than defined upfront
Curiosity about how collaborative practices like ensembling are evolving alongside AI-assisted development
A "can do" attitude devoid of ego
Ability to deliver in small pieces while thinking about the whole
Welcome change as a positive
Actively contribute to a learning team culture, offering and receiving feedback with curiosity and respect

Nice To Haves

Embrace AI assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Notebook) as force multipliers to accelerate innovation, iterate faster, and maintain high-quality output.

Responsibilities

Embed with a Flexion team to observe how they currently collaborate and identify where coaching would have the most impact
Facilitate and coach ensembling/mob programming sessions, pairing, and other collaborative practices tailored to the team's real needs
Help the team explore how collaborative practices like ensembling apply in an AI-assisted development context
Coach individuals and the team through specific collaboration challenges, experiments, or questions as they arise
Share observations, feedback, and recommendations with the team and Flexion leadership on where continued investment would be most valuable
Contribute to broader initiatives such as onboarding workshops, company-wide talks, or recurring office hours, as capacity and interest allow
