About The Position

The Aggregate Maintenance/Operator maintains and repairs equipment, operates the aggregate plant, and operates a front-end loader once trained. The role is in a fast-paced environment with varied challenges and modern, well-maintained equipment. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in an aggregate quarry or mine and a proven safety record, though candidates with strong experience in other fields may be developed for the role. Independent thinking and action are important.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE).
Valid driver’s license.
Prior experience in a plant or industrial setting, particularly with aggregates or construction materials.
At least one year of experience working within an aggregate quarry or mine is identified as ideal; candidates with strong overall experience outside aggregates may also be considered.
Proven safety track record is identified as ideal.
Mechanical aptitude to identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
Experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment.
Basic to intermediate welding and fabrication experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in inclement weather, and climb ladders or stairs up to 24 feet.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed.
Ability to think and act independently.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate a front-end loader to feed material into the aggregate processing plant, once trained.
Perform routine equipment inspections and daily preventative maintenance and safety checks.
Use programmable logic controls (PLCs) for basic operation and system monitoring as required.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair plant equipment, including screens, conveyor belts, crushers, and motors.
Replace and adjust mechanical components to ensure proper equipment function.
Identify equipment wear or failures and correct issues quickly to maintain operational continuity.
Use welding, cutting, and fabrication skills to repair or reinforce plant components as needed.
Operate hand and power tools, including grinders, cutting torches, and impact wrenches, and maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
Comply with company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Recognize hazards and proactively mitigate risks to support a safe work environment.
Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
