About The Position

Scalia is seeking a hands-on, versatile and service oriented Maintenance Technician – Resident Services to ensure the general, preventive, and corrective maintenance of our newly built residential property Westwalk DDO. We are looking for someone reliable, resourceful and autonomous – the kind of person residents trust and who helps maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. This role is essential to the tenants’ experience: on-site presence, quick response, diligent follow-up and light to moderate maintenance work. Poste incluant une résidence sur place dans l’immeuble. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5pm (40h per week). Participation in an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in residential or commercial building maintenance.
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and basic mechanical systems.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of tasks and request types.
  • Strong service mindset and communication skills.
  • Resourceful, autonomous, reliable and good judgment.
  • Proficiency in spoken French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests professionally and courteously.
  • Handle minor emergencies (false alarms, minor alerts, small adjustments).
  • Maintain positive interactions with residents in a premium environment.
  • Perform regular rounds: detectors, lighting, ventilation, access points, etc.
  • Execute simple resets (e.g., water detector resets) and identify anomalies.
  • Conduct first-level diagnostics before escalating to external specialists.
  • Light to moderate work: paint touch-ups, light carpentry, basic plumbing, minor electrical tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and quality of common areas.
  • Keep detailed logs of inspections and interventions.
  • Welcome and oversee external contractors when required.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness and proper execution of their work.
  • Light snow removal, abrasives spreading, small outdoor maintenance.
  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation to respond promptly when needed.
