About The Position

Under direct supervision, this role supports all distributions with agent contracting and distribution processes, including appointment updates, agent record maintenance, terminations, and data changes. The position utilizes multiple systems, such as LifePro, CLARC, Vertafore, and related platforms.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including business writing skills as related to accurate and correct internal and external business communications.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding technical solutions and learning/utilizing tools.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) with the ability to utilize many systems.
  • Strong customer service skills with a desire and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative, professional and friendly manner.
  • Able to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • A combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in licensing sales distribution systems, customer service or other insurance related field.

  • Agent licensing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and processes new agent contracting and appointment requests for all distribution channels in compliance with company policies.
  • Confirms licensing and required documentation.
  • Submits background investigations to vendors.
  • Processes appointments, assigns agent numbers, and distributes appointment approval notifications and executed contracts.
  • Process agent contract exchange requests for existing agents in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintains agent licensing records and ensures it is kept up to date by utilizing system reports, submitting written requests to agents, receiving licensing information, and updating agent’s record.
  • Handles agent contract/appointment terminations by updating the agent’s record to reflect the termination date, sending appointment termination to the corresponding state(s), and corresponding with the agent of the contract termination.
  • Assists with the creation of agent commission assignments by establishing a commission record, maintaining and updating the record upon receipt of a request.
  • Assists with the processing of annual appointment renewals according to state guidelines, including but not limited to paying state invoices and researching discrepancies between state DOI records and company records.
  • Assists with the review of new business submitted with inaccurate agent information and corrects information as necessary.
  • Communicates with agents/managers, clients, case managers and external carriers to obtain missing information and follow up for agent contracting applications.
  • Distributes manager agreements to obtain agent signature by mailing to the appropriate manager.
  • Accesses, utilizes, and discloses individually identifiable information to perform specific functions of the position in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and as required by law.
