About The Position

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Agency Management Analyst in our Hight Tech Crimes Division located in Fairfax, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to: Analyzing, validating, and routing National Cetner for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTip referrals for the Northern Virginia/DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Producing compliance and performance reports required by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Maintaining and enhancing ICAC investigative databases. Researching, interpreting, and summarizing federal/state policy and legislative changes to inform affiliate agencies and VSP leadership. Providing a comprehensive analytical view of operations and alternative solutions to support task force and Department decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Knowledge of research techniques and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of program compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Skill in operating computers, using Microsoft Office applications and using data management system software.
  • Skill in report management, in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Skill in database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, explain, and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, summarize, interpret and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and complete files.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and representatives of other agencies and organizations.
  • Experience working in an investigative or analytical capacity.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or training in social science, government, business, or criminal justice related field preferred.
  • Analytical or investigative experience to include criminal analytical training is preferred.
  • Public safety experience or other broad scope governmental experience preferred.
