The New York City Housing Authority's Law Department's Labor & Employee Relations unit proactively advises Human Resources and other business units on progressive discipline and represents NYCHA in disciplinary due process proceedings. Under general supervision, with latitude for independent judgment and decision making, the responsibilities of the Agency Attorney 2 will include, but not be limited to, investigating potential employee disciplinary matters, drafting disciplinary charges, interviewing witnesses, gathering relevant documents, representing the Authority in employee disciplinary proceedings, settlement conferences, disability hearings, researching/drafting memoranda, representing the Authority in appeals before the NYC Civil Service Commission, and providing legal analysis, advice and counsel to Human Resources and other Departments. The selected candidate will be required to maintain confidentiality regarding all NYCHA proceedings. Part-time telework may be available after 90 days of employment.
