About The Position

The Agricultural Analyst participates on a team which provides credit analysis on assigned commercial credits including collateral monitoring, covenant management, tax return analysis, assisting in the completion of risk management forms including agricultural budgets, inspections, season end reconciliations, and trend reports, and preparation of required underwriting forms as needed. The Agricultural Analyst performs various tasks associated with support, reporting and control of the various commercial credit risk management functions. Responsible for analyzing complex companies and industries and conducting presentations on findings to the Ag Industries Specialists and/or Credit Administration. The Agricultural Analyst analyzes historical income, balance sheet statements, and monthly, quarterly, or annual borrowing bases. Follows for timely renewals, reporting requirements, compliance items, and delinquencies.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Agribusiness or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Established knowledge of financial accounting theory and logic, financial statement and business entity types, commercial products and services.
Basic knowledge of financial analysis practices, principles, applications and analysis methods.
Excellent organizational skills with efficient work demeanor that allows involvement in multiple areas.
Ability to utilize personal computers, and Windows-driven programs, with an emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Word and Excel.
Ability to complete a high volume of work efficiently and with accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Two to three years of experience within the financial services industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Inputs historical financial information to show financial trends, evaluate repayment, and mitigate risk.
Analyzes key factors such as industry, management, and economic trends.
Ability to work in a heavily deadline-oriented environment.
Maintains and coordinates covenant management responsibilities for assigned region.
Maintains a log of maturing agricultural lines and coordinates ordering process to ensure that necessary information is received prior to line maturity.
Monitors past due loans for assigned portfolio(s) and recommends action to sales staff or contacts customers directly, as appropriate.
Assists as needed in the preparation of Annual Budgets, Inspections, and Season End Reconciliations for agricultural credits.
Processes monthly trend reports for borrowing base tracking and covenant compliance across assigned portfolio.
Coordinates with appraisal department for processing and review of appraisals as necessary.
Processes monthly or quarterly reconciliations of borrower advances and pay-downs.
Assists Ag Industry Specialists with preparation of industry materials for internal publishing.
Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, templates, and tools related to Ag Industries and Collateral Monitoring.
Maintains a current understanding of Bank underwriting guidelines, procedures, policies and compliance issues.
Maintains a working knowledge of regulatory requirements for documentation and regulations relating to commercial lending.
Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Assists Ag Industry Specialist Manager and Ag Industry Specialists in the development and completion of special projects, spreadsheets, graphs, and reports as assigned.
