This Ag in the Classroom Educator serves as a member of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County’s 4-H Youth Development Program to assist with the implementation and evaluation of educational programs and activities. The Educator is responsible for promoting program objectives and plans in the 4-H Youth Development Program with an emphasis on Ag in the Classroom. The Educator will coordinate and deliver established Ag in the Classroom curriculum to foster awareness, understanding, and appreciation of how food and fiber is produced, how people eat, and how people live by helping teachers, students, and their communities learn about and engage in agriculture and food systems. Students will also work to develop an understanding of careers in agriculture. The Educator will utilize established curriculum in program work to help youth understand the connections between agriculture, the environment, and people. This position will coordinate programming and activities to foster the program with community leaders. The Educator will assist 4-H staff with summer programing as necessary.
