About The Position

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Site Supervisor will organize, and lead a comprehensive enrichment program for children who attend before and after school programs. The Site Director will provide day-to-day direction and supervision of assigned program locations and staff, ensuring that all programs operate in a quality manner consistent with the Y mission, cause, and values.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two to three years childcare or related experience
  • Relevant experience in supervision and administration of youth programs
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Project management skills
  • Time management skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Minimum age of 18
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen training within 60 days of hire.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment and Child Abuse Prevention training before start of 1st shift.

Nice To Haves

  • One year or more of college preferred
  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, organizes and leads all daily after school program activities.
  • Observes and follows the School Age Child Care program guidelines
  • Complies with all Association and branch specific policies and procedures.
  • Assists with recruitment, hiring and development of program staff; provides leadership to staff, ensures adequate coverage for all activities.
  • Performs general housekeeping tasks and ensures that site and program areas are clean and well organized.
  • Provides a safe, healthy, moral, and fun environment for all children.
  • Fosters an environment, which includes the five YMCA character development values of respect, responsibility, caring, honesty, and faith.
  • Maintains all records, paperwork, and required reporting, including timesheets, lesson plans, incident reports, etc.
  • Maintains a positive, open relationship with all staff, parents, program participants, administration, support staff and the community. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Identifies and resolves problems to ensure programs are meeting goals of the program, reports unresolved issues to the Youth Development Director.
  • Works additional hours as needed when there is a 1/2 day of school, school closing or vacation day.
  • Attends all staff meetings and training programs.
  • Follows all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings.
  • Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
  • Perfom other duties as assigned.
