About The Position

The YMCA of Orange County is seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for Part-time Afterschool Program Staff positions in their Lowell Joint Unified School Sites. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and families by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. The program serves children aged 4-12 and involves guiding them through curriculum-aligned activities such as STEM, arts, and homework assistance. Staff are expected to provide attentive service, warmth, and a welcoming environment for participants and parents, modeling core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility daily. The goal is to ensure positive social-emotional growth and success for every child through committed presence.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 18+ years old.
6 months experience working with children preferred in an after-school, camp, or daycare setting.
48 college units or passing proficiency exam prior to hire for (non-licensed/ASES programs).

Subject to criminal background check, drug screen, and will be asked to provide criminal history.
Form I-9 information will be provided to the federal government to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.
