Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in education or a related field
  • At least 3 years of successful teaching or leadership experience
  • Prior administrative or supervisory experience required
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for LaAmistad’s Afterschool Program and Anímate Summer Academy.
  • Ensure a high-quality, engaging, and outcomes-driven program experience by working closely with staff, students, families, and community partners.
  • Manage program implementation, team leadership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement aligned with LaAmistad’s mission and values.
  • Create and maintain a learning environment that supports student growth and success.
  • Analyze student achievement and program data to drive improvements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement high-quality programming.
  • Lead ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Lead, manage, and supervise staff while fostering a strong and positive team culture.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and set clear expectations.
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual performance evaluations.
  • Support staff development through coaching and training opportunities.
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple afterschool locations in Metro Atlanta.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure program quality and compliance.
  • Manage logistics including supplies, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Monitor program budgets and support financial accountability.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, schools, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Ensure consistent and effective two-way communication.
  • Lead student recruitment and enrollment in partnership with schools.
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and joyful environment for all students.
  • Support programming that meets the needs of diverse learners and families.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff by responding to questions and concerns.
  • Identify staff and volunteer training needs and implement plans to meet them.
  • Ensure program alignment with LaAmistad standards and expectations.
  • Support organizational initiatives and complete additional duties as needed.
