About The Position

Provide leadership and accountability to the After School department. Reports directly to the Youth Site Director, or Youth Development Director. Deliver a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Perform other departmental duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18.
• Previous experience working with children in a supervisory setting required.
• Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training within 90 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Supervise department Level 1 staff, including corrective action/coaching. Ensure mandatory training and certifications are complete. Report staff concerns to the Youth Site Director, or Youth Development Director.
• Manage department inventory, supplies and equipment maintenance. Report all maintenance and cleaning concerns to the Youth Director.
• Schedule department staff in accordance with YMCA employment policies, inform supervisor of shift vacancies.
• Provide safe supervision to participants and maintain a fun, welcoming environment.
• Implement and plan program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values.
• Uphold program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attend staff meetings and YMCA training as directed.
