About The Position

Lindberg/MPH is a leading manufacturer of standard and custom industrial heat treat furnaces and melting/holding furnaces for various industries. The Aftermarket Reline Rebuild Sales Engineer will work under the direction of the Aftermarket Manager to review customer requests, perform design calculations, prepare cost estimations, and generate quotations for relines, rebuilds, and upgrades to customer equipment. This role involves interacting with customers and sales staff, developing proposals, determining costs and pricing, analyzing job margins, and collaborating with other departments like engineering and production. The position also requires processing purchase orders, participating in industry events, and occasionally traveling to customer sites. The engineer must ensure conformance to codes and company standards for quality, profitability, and manufacturability, while staying informed about industry developments.

Requirements

  • Review requests, applications, and processes submitted by sales and/or customers.
  • Perform design calculations (as necessary).
  • Prepare cost estimations.
  • Generate quotations that meet LMPH fiscal goals, company standards, applicable codes, and the customer’s specifications.
  • Ability to discuss, refine, and sell relines, rebuilds, and upgrades to customer equipment.
  • Develop accurate proposals/quotes by reviewing equipment specifications and customer requirements.
  • Prepare budgetary pricing and abbreviated proposals.
  • Generate detailed and accurate quotations/proposals with lead times.
  • Create and maintain accurate and complete proposal templates.
  • Determine accurate costs and ensure appropriate selling price based off LMPH margin goals.
  • Review quoted/shipped job margins and provide detailed analysis on financials.
  • Confer with engineering and production to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Confer with marketing, legal, and engineering to provide technical information.
  • Process purchase orders in ERP (currently AS400/BPCS) system and in Salesforce.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and training sessions.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites.
  • Follow-up with customers to confirm receipt of proposal, address questions or concerns, and actively sell proposed equipment.
  • Ensure conformance to codes and company standards for quality, profitability, and manufacturability.
  • Stay current and informed of new developments in industry and new parts or methods to improve products or product designs.
  • Comply with all housekeeping procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers, direct sales, and sales representatives to discuss, refine, and ultimately sell relines, rebuilds and upgrades to customer equipment.
  • Interacts with the customer and/or sales staff to review equipment specifications and customer requirements to develop accurate proposals/quotes.
  • Prepares budgetary pricing and abbreviated proposals when requested to help qualify projects before investing greater resources which would be required to generate a detailed proposal with firm pricing.
  • Generates detailed and accurate quotations/proposals with lead times to allow customers to purchase equipment. Create and maintain accurate and complete proposal templates.
  • Determine accurate costs and ensure appropriate selling price based off LMPH margin goals, or as directed otherwise by the Aftermarket Manage or General Manager.
  • Reviews quoted/shipped job margins and provides detailed analysis on financials that have variances when requested.
  • Confers with appropriate coworkers, including engineering and production, to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Confers with appropriate personnel in other departments, such as marketing, legal, and engineering, to provide technical information.
  • Process purchase orders in ERP (currently AS400/BPCS) system and in Salesforce.
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments, technologies, and components.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to review applications or meet with local sales representative and/or Sales staff to discuss projects with customers.
  • For projects handled direct (with no outside Sales Representative or Direct Sales Person), the Aftermarket Reline Rebuild Sales Engineer will follow-up with the customer to confirm receipt of proposal, address any questions or concerns, and actively sell the proposed equipment meeting company standards, applicable codes, and customer specifications.

  • Stay current and informed of new developments in industry and new parts or methods to improve products or product designs.
