About The Position

The Aftermarket Product Manager will perform market research, engage with customers, and create/maintain marketing and technical content. This role involves maintaining the product catalog for Tensioners, Belts & Kits, identifying sunsetting products and developing strategies to manage them, and identifying product/category gaps to fill. The Product Manager will also be responsible for developing and introducing new products to the market, from concept to launch, including timing belts, accessory drive components, auxiliary water pumps, and certain metric belts and tensioners. Key objectives include improving market presence, solidifying brand perception, maintaining supplier relationships and materials, managing SAP settings and portfolio data, working with Distribution Centers for kitting business, resolving warranty claims and technical escalations, and creating SOPs and guidelines. This position is for a leader who manages themselves, works full-time, and is located near Continental's Fairlawn, Ohio Headquarters or Lincoln, Nebraska plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related fields or in lieu of bachelors degree 5+ years of experience in industry and/or product management
  • Experience converting a major customer's business from a competitor and developing, presenting, gaining approval and executing on major business cases.
  • Sales and Customer Relationship management and development
  • Presentation skills including working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Financial acumen including the ability to manage sales, margin, cost and working capital and to read and prepare business cases
  • Strong communication skills
  • Emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity
  • Market and knowledge of diverse industrial markets
  • Business planning and forecasting
  • Automotive Aftermarket product and customer knowledge
  • Knowledge of Continental policies, procedures and values
  • Experience executing along the sales cycle to hunt and close new customers and new business.
  • Ability to translate applications and opportunities into business cases for evaluation
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Must be near Fairlawn, Ohio Headquarters or Lincoln, Nebraska plant.
