About The Position

Carrier Climate Solutions Americas is seeking a highly accomplished, results-driven Aftermarket Materials Planning Leader to lead end-to-end materials planning for the Aftermarket business. This role is accountable for ensuring parts availability, service performance excellence, and working capital optimization across the network. This is a transformational leadership role—responsible not only for executing and stabilizing current planning processes, but for building best-in-class materials planning capabilities. The role will drive standardization, strengthen governance, modernize systems, and elevate talent to deliver sustainable performance and scalability. The Aftermarket Materials Planning Leader translates demand into effective supply execution across internal manufacturing, external suppliers, and distribution networks. The role ensures tight alignment with SIOP/S&OE governance, Carrier Operations Excellence, and enterprise performance objectives. The Aftermarket Materials Planning Leader will be required to travel up to 30% within the United States and Mexico.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8 or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials Planning, or related disciplines.
  • 5 or more years of people leadership experience.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the materials planning strategy to ensure industry-leading parts availability and support Aftermarket service and attachment growth.
  • Translate demand forecasts into executable, constrained supply plans across internal manufacturing and external supplier networks.
  • Establish and govern safety stock policies, inventory segmentation (ABC/XYZ), and lifecycle strategies to balance service, cost, and working capital.
  • Serve as the Aftermarket Supply Planning lead within the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, ensuring supply constraints, risks, and recovery plans are clearly articulated.
  • Partner with the SIOP organization to develop supply scenarios, capacity assessments, and inventory trade-offs.
  • Support executive decision-making with data-driven recommendations balancing service performance, cost, and inventory investment.
  • Drive short-term execution rigor through Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE), proactively managing shortages, capacity gaps, and supplier risks.
  • Ensure supply commitments are aligned with approved demand plans and financial targets.
  • Deliver inventory turns and working capital objectives across the Aftermarket network.
  • Reduce excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory through disciplined lifecycle management and demand/supply alignment.
  • Optimize inventory positioning across the distribution network to improve OTIF performance and reduce premium freight and expediting costs.
  • Ensure supplier capacity readiness and delivery assurance to support aftermarket priorities.
  • Lead escalation and recovery governance for critical material shortages.
  • Align factory production plans to prioritize aftermarket service requirements in collaboration with Operations and Manufacturing teams.
  • Lead enhancements to planning systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, APS) to improve planning effectiveness and scalability.
  • Improve forecast accuracy inputs and overall supply signal quality through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Implement best-in-class materials planning governance, performance metrics, and KPI dashboards.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Service, Product Management, Procurement, Distribution Centers, and Finance.
  • Support service-level commitments including OTIF, fill rate, and customer responsiveness.
  • Drive alignment with cost, margin, and Profit & Loss (P&L) objectives.
  • Direct and indirect leadership of materials planners and materials management teams.
  • Accountability across multiple factories, suppliers, and distribution sites.
