About The Position

Primer is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Aftercare Program Guide to manage and engage students during the after school program. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children between kindergarten to 8th grade, fostering a safe and fun environment, and contributing positively to the school community. This is a part-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM, during the school year. The compensation is $26.67 per hour. Student safety is Primer's most important responsibility to families. It is critical that Aftercare Guides know where students are at all times, understand emergency procedures, and ensure that every student is safely picked up by an authorized person.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher
• Prior experience working with children and creating engaging, age-appropriate activities
• Communicates clearly and professionally with students, families, and school staff
• Demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Can effectively manage time and resources to create a smooth and enjoyable aftercare experience
• Willing and able to complete state database fingerprinting, a background check and Mandatory Abuse Reporting training

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage all students enrolled in the Aftercare program.
• Ensure student safety at all times by knowing the location of all students and following authorized pick-up protocols.
• Implement structured daily programming aligned to the aftercare schedule.
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of your group and the space available.
• Build positive relationships and maintain respectful communication with students, families, and school staff.
• Understand and follow emergency and safety protocols outlined by the school leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming aftercare environment.
