Aftercare Assistant Teacher
About The Position
The Grace Beginnings Academy Aftercare Assistant Teacher is passionate about guiding and caring for 6 weeks–5-year-olds in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate works collaboratively with the aftercare staff, and helps support each child’s growth in their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. This role assists in caring for and implementing activities following the school day. This is a school year (September-May), part-time position with a preferred schedule of 3:15-5:45p. There are three age groups available, Infants (6 weeks-15 months), Toddlers/JP (16 months – 2 years), or Preschool/PreK (3-5 years)
Requirements
- 16 years +
- High School credits or diploma
- Must meet licensing requirements for an aide/assistant
- Has a commitment to prayer, as evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer.
- Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
- Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the aftercare schedule, including free play, outside time, activities and care for each child.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with the other aftercare staff
- Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position
- Maintains licensing compliance
- Other duties as assigned
