About The Position

Brains and Motion Education (BAM!) is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead engaging after-school programs for K-8 students. These programs focus on hands-on STEAM projects, creative arts, active physical games, and homework support. BAM! aims to provide a fun, active, and supportive environment where students can grow and explore their interests, equipping them with the physical and social tools to thrive. The organization has inspired over 100,000 students across more than 1,000 schools with its innovative STEM, Arts, and Sports enrichment programs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of practical experience in STEM fields, creative arts, or athletic programs.
• Strong enthusiasm for mentoring youth and sharing skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to engage with and support elementary and middle school students (Grades K–8).
• Strong classroom leadership skills with the ability to maintain a positive, structured group environment.
• Valid government-issued photo ID (such as a state ID or active driver’s license).
• Dependable personal transportation to commute to designated program locations.
• Ability to successfully complete and clear a background check (online/Live Scan process).
• Consistent weekday afternoon availability between 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM.
• Ability to occasionally lift and handle program supplies weighing between 20 and 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured STEAM experiments, hands-on creative art projects, and active sports/recreational games.
• Facilitate dedicated daily homework sessions and assist students with assignments.
• Maintain active supervision, manage group dynamics in grades K–8, and foster a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
• Direct outdoor recreational play and guided recess activities to keep students energized and engaged.
• Transport, set up, and clean up necessary program materials and equipment for daily sessions.
