The After School Woodworking Teacher leads an after school course that builds children’s knowledge of how to safely use a range of tools—including hammers, saws, sanding blocks, and hand-propelled drills—through the process of creating wood-based projects. Under the supervision of the After School Director and the Auxiliary Programs team, the Woodworking Teacher designs and implements age-appropriate curricula for two groups of 10–12 students each in Bank Street’s Wood Shop. This role is well suited to an educator who is excited by hands-on making, values process over product, and can teach tool safety and craft to young children in a progressive, child-centered setting.
