About The Position

Columbus School for Girls (CSG) is seeking an energetic and creative After School Teaching Aide effective January 2027. This is a 10-month position, following the faculty calendar, with working hours from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. CSG offers a competitive salary, generous benefits, and professional opportunities. Requirements

• Associate's degree required.
• Strong candidates will have classroom experience.
• An understanding of the value of an all-girls education and the eagerness to learn about the best ways to help young women of promise to reach their full potential as learners and leaders.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A genuine appreciation for and an understanding of the development of young children.
• A sense of humor.
• Ability to work well within a diverse, collaborative environment.
• Ability to lift or run after a child.
• Ability to go outside in inclement weather.
• Ability to travel throughout the campus to complete their duties.
• The physical demands include being able to sit, talk, hear, stand; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; and reach hands and arms.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close and distance vision.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
• Background in early childhood preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with teachers in the classroom to provide the highest quality education and care for the children.
• Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Support and extend student work in the classroom in a questioning and reflecting manner.
• Prepare snacks.
• Help maintain the classroom, materials, Columbia House and the playground.
• Take and type notes and photographs for documentation.
• Attend parent meetings when requested.
