About The Position

The After-School Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for school-age children while supporting their learning and development. At The Learning Experience, we make early education joyful, engaging and fun so children are happy to learn, play and grow. Our curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development and engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. This forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play and Grow under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff. At TLE®, we’ve created a full cast of characters that become our little learners’ educators, partners and friends through their preschool education journey. Each character has a unique personality and area of interest and brings learning to life by allowing children to explore the world through fun and imagination.

Requirements

Be dependable, punctual, energetic, and actively involved with the children.
Come prepared with activities and materials.
Minimize downtime and excessive personal phone use.
Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.
Be receptive to coaching and work as part of the center team.

Responsibilities

Actively supervise and engage school-age children.
Implement LEAP Curriculum activities from The Learning Experience.
Plan and lead age-appropriate activities including STEM, arts & crafts, games, outdoor play, and group activities.
Provide homework support and encourage reading and learning.
Build positive relationships with children and encourage teamwork, creativity, and independence.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
Follow all licensing, safety, ratio, and center policies.
Use positive behavior guidance and communicate concerns to leadership.
Maintain professional and positive communication with families and coworkers.
