Discovery Point Lutz is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and caring After-School Teacher to join our team! Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be dependable, responsible, and energetic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Must enjoy working with children and have a positive attitude
• Must meet Florida childcare employment requirements

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with school-age children preferred
• Childcare, teaching, camp, tutoring, or youth-program experience is a plus
• Energetic, patient, creative, and genuinely enjoys spending time with children
• Someone who can turn the afternoon into something children look forward to—whether that's helping with homework, playing outside, creating an art project, or simply being a positive role model.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children
• Create a positive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, arts and crafts, and enrichment experiences
• Assist children with homework and school assignments when needed
• Encourage positive social interactions, teamwork, and respectful behavior
• Provide opportunities for indoor and outdoor play
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
• Build positive relationships with children and their families
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day
• Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state childcare regulations
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and administration
• Help create a fun and memorable experience for children in our after-school program
