About The Position

Atlas Public Schools is seeking energetic, reliable, and student-centered individuals to join our Beyond School team as After School Support Specialists. This role supports the supervision, engagement, and safety of students participating in after-school programming. This position is ideal for individuals interested in education, youth development, classroom support, or pursuing a future career in teaching. Successful candidates will help create a positive, engaging, and safe environment where students can learn, play, and build relationships after the school day ends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and reliability in a school environment.
• Successful completion of all required background checks and employment screenings.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree, college coursework, or experience working with children preferred.
• Previous experience in education, childcare, summer camps, youth programs, coaching, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise groups of students during after-school programming.
• Lead and support recreational, enrichment, academic, and social-emotional activities.
• Assist with student transitions, attendance, snack distribution, and dismissal procedures.
• Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate behavioral expectations.
• Support students in resolving conflicts and making positive choices.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
• Communicate effectively with school staff and program leadership.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.
• Follow all Atlas Public Schools policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support student success and program operations.
