After School STEM instructor
About The Position
Mad Science is hiring a part-time STEM instructor with a flexible schedule. This role involves teaching science workshops to children from Pre-K to 6th grade in various locations such as schools, daycares, or park and rec centers. The company provides all necessary supplies, equipment, and curriculum for these fun and interactive science classes. Instructors will lead one-hour lessons after receiving paid training. The position is ideal for individuals who are flexible, creative, engaging, have excellent verbal communication skills, love children and science, and are comfortable with non-traditional work schedules.
Requirements
- Flexible, creative, engaging, and have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Love children, science, teaching and/or acting.
- Own/have regular access to a car.
- Ability to work independently with autonomy.
- Comfortable with non-traditional work schedules and the gig economy.
- Willingness to try new things and embrace variety.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in acting.
Responsibilities
- Drive to a school, daycare or park and rec to teach science workshops.
- Lead one-hour exciting, immersive and interactive science lessons.
- Teach basic science concepts in a fun and engaging way to children in K-5th grade.
- Set up and take down materials for the science workshops.
