About The Position

Jovie is an independently owned, community and purpose-driven organization that provides caregivers with training, resources, and support to develop their childcare skills and confidence on the job. Jovie families need your joy, your sense of fun, and your childcare know-how. Jovie has helped thousands of parents find childcare with full or part-time nannies and sitters and emergency back-up care. This is a school year position in Kirkwood, MO, from August 18, 2026, to the end of the 2026-2027 school year. The schedule is Monday - Thursday from 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM. A spectacular Kirkwood family is seeking a responsible after-school sitter for two children ages 4 & 6. The sitter would pick up children from school and transport them less than a mile home. The children are used to having sitters after school and enjoy crafts, coloring, and games. The family has two dogs and the sitter would be asked to let them in/out, but no other pet care is requested. The ideal candidate should be patient, kind, and reliable.

Requirements

Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
Must be willing to transport children as part of duties.
Subject to a mandatory background check.
Clear driving record is a must.

Responsibilities

Share meaningful moments with little ones through play.
Keep a watchful eye to ensure every child feels secure and well-protected.
Prepare yummy snacks to keep everyone energized.
Lead the way in "clean-up time," teaching the kids to help restore the home after a day of fun.
Become an honorary member of the family by building deep, trusting relationships with parents and kids alike.
Pick up children from school and transport them home.
Let family dogs in and out.
