The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the T’exelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Under the direction of the Recreation Manager, the After-School Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation of a variety of new and current community-based recreation programs and after school activities and programs under the guidelines of existing partnerships—including the Right to Play organization. The After School/Youth Leadership Program activities are for children ages 6 and up. As an advocate for healthy families and communities, the After-School Program Coordinator possesses solid communication skills and is a results-oriented individual who takes a pro-active approach to initiating and following through with a variety of recreation projects. This position entails a combination of administrative responsibilities and direct program delivery, and ensures positive relations with staff, external partnerships, and the public.
