After-School Program Teacher (Live Oak Campus)
About The Position
This part-time, hourly afternoon position supports elementary and middle school students with homework, enrichment, and recreational activities. Teachers are assigned to a specific grade-level class and conduct a daily activity using a provided lesson plan. Activities may include reading, athletics, logic games, art, and music. Great Hearts Academies is a nonprofit network of charter schools dedicated to improving education by developing excellent public schools. The organization prepares graduates for success at leading colleges and universities, and emphasizes the formation of students' intellectual and moral character.
Requirements
- Some college; an education or liberal arts major is preferred.
- Experience working with children.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lead and teach children.
- Complete Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and a background check.
- Be at least 18 years old by the start date.
- Have US work authorization.
- Be able to perform physical functions including standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
- May be required to move or position equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
