About The Position

The After School Program Staff member is responsible for supervising a designated group of Lower School students during the after-school program. This role ensures student safety, supports homework completion, facilitates play and activities, and provides a positive and engaging environment for students at the end of the school day. This position begins the second week of August 2026 and runs through the third week of May 2027.

Requirements

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)

Nice To Haves

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Brook Hill Statement of Faith
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Some post-secondary training highly preferred
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a designated group of Lower School students, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Assist students with homework and support age-appropriate activities, games, and free play
• Follow daily schedules and directions set by the After School Program Director
• Maintain accurate awareness of student attendance, transitions, and locations throughout the program
• Ensure students are released only to authorized individuals in accordance with established check-out procedures
• Reinforce school rules and expectations, addressing minor behavior issues and elevating concerns as needed
• Assist with snack distribution, clean-up, and maintaining organized program spaces
• Support smooth transitions between activities and help ensure an orderly, positive environment
• Participate in emergency drills and follow all safety procedures
