About The Position

The Child Development Center is hiring a full-time Site Director for their licensed After School CREW Program, serving elementary students across 11 schools in Southwest Austin. This role involves leading daily operations, managing assistant teachers, creating enrichment activities, and fostering relationships with students, families, and school partners. The program aims to provide a safe and fun enrichment environment where children are active, learn life skills, and build community, guided by values of Character, Respect, Empowerment, and Wonder.

Requirements

  • At least 1+ years of teaching experience in a similarly licensed program
  • At least 1+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree Required
  • General computer proficiency is required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Candidates must meet all Texas Department of Health and Human Services (Child Care Licensing) requirements
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday
  • Must pass state and national background check
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and be on your feet for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Education is preferred and a huge plus
  • Being bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and facilitation of their school site.
  • Assume full responsibility for all aspects of the site, including program implementation, facilities operation, program/community relations, and staff development.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the program and assist teachers in mentoring children.
  • Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers.
  • Create an enjoyable and safe environment for students and staff.
  • Manage program staff and hold teachers accountable to CDC policies and licensing standards.
  • Attend special events to promote the program.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with families, teachers, school district leaders, state licensing authorities, and staff.
  • Create developmentally and age-appropriate lesson plans and quality activities that align with the Texas Rising Star program.
  • Ensure lesson plans and activities are implemented at a high level by assistant teachers.
  • Create high-quality monthly newsletters for families.
  • Provide lunch monitoring on-site at the assigned elementary school.
  • Maintain compliance with Texas Rising Star and licensing standards.
