Under the general supervision of the Out of School Programs and Camp Manager, the After School Program Instructor is responsible for supervising, leading, and instructing various recreational programs in an after-school classroom setting. This position will create and implement a curriculum for various age groups (5–14 years old) across multiple school sites for a variety of recreational activities. Activities include, but are not limited to: pickleball, soccer, baseball, yoga, tennis, golf, dance, drama, basketball, arts, STEAM activities, and others as requested. The instructor will teach and engage participants, encourage them to meet performance goals, prepare the classroom by gathering and setting up needed equipment, develop programs/curriculum, prepare daily lesson plans, and monitor supplies/inventory. This role acts as a key motivator, maintains positive relationships with employees, participants, parents, and volunteers, and follows all safety procedures, supporting the Park District's safety program.
