About The Position

This position is responsible for planning and providing activities and child care services for school-age children participating in the After School Program. The role involves planning, developing, and facilitating recreational activities and play time, preparing and maintaining program records, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the center's property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two years experience teaching child development programs in a church or preschool or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
  • Valid state driver's license
  • CPR and first aid certifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
  • Selects, plans and facilitates activities for school age children; ensures that activities are age appropriate, stimulating, fun and safe.
  • Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through inside and outside learning activities.
  • Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensure that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during children mealtime encouraging conversation.
  • Organizes and supervises recreational activities; observes, monitors, and supervises children.
