About The Position
This position is responsible for leading children’s activities in an after-school program, including classroom training, tutoring, sports, bible study, computer programs, and specialized activities. The role involves preparing and serving snacks, assisting with activities, and maintaining the cleanliness of program areas. Additionally, the position requires preparing and maintaining up-to-date records and reports (attendance, development progress, discipline), processing supply orders, and ensuring the orderly maintenance of after-school program materials and accountability necessities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church, OR Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Valid Driver’s License
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Responsibilities
- Leads children’s activities in and after school program including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs
- Prepares and serves children snacks
- Assists in leading activities and maintains the cleanliness of the program areas
- Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and required reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.)
- Prepares and processes supply orders
- Maintains the after school program materials in an orderly fashion
- Maintains accountability necessities of the programs
- Provides constant care of the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner
- Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific
- Utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities
- Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities
- Ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same
- Cleans kitchen, classrooms, tables, floors, etc. in accordance with established sanitary standards
- Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips
- Reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner
