About The Position

This position is responsible for leading children’s activities in and after school program including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs. The role involves preparing and serving snacks, assisting in leading activities, and maintaining the cleanliness of program areas. Additionally, the position requires preparing and maintaining up-to-date records and reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.), processing supply orders, and maintaining after school program materials in an orderly fashion. The After School Program Aide provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner. They develop and implement age-group program specific lesson plans, utilizing age-group appropriate discovery areas enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities. The role also involves determining appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities, ensuring children's safety in their utilization, and cleaning kitchen, classrooms, tables, and floors according to established sanitary standards. Ensuring the accountability, security, and safety of children during camp activities and field trips, and reporting all accidents to the supervisor accurately and timely are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church, OR Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • C.P.R. and First Aid Certification

  • Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips
  • Reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner
