About The Position

Join Kama‘āina Kids as an After School Group Leader and make a difference in a child’s day—every day. Our After School Group Leaders are enthusiastic, caring team players who support students with engaging activities, homework help, and a safe, supportive environment after the school day ends. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer)
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine love for kids
  • CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain—we can help!)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawaii (or have plans to relocate) to qualify

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a coach, scout leader, camp counselor, or caring for children in your family

Responsibilities

  • Lead activities that promote creativity, learning, and teamwork
  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive environment
  • Be a role model and mentor for children in our after-school program
  • Greeting children and welcoming them to the program after school.
  • Helping kids settle down with a snack and assisting with homework.
  • Engaging in fun activities such as board games, crafts, and outdoor play.
  • Facilitating group activities like talent shows, Lego-building contests, STEM projects or creating slime.
  • Connecting with families when they pick up their children.
