About The Position

As an After School Group Leader with Kamaʻāina Kids, you’ll create a safe, positive place where elementary-age children can play, learn, explore, and connect. From outdoor games and STEM challenges to art projects and homework help, you’ll keep kids engaged while being a trusted, encouraging adult in their day. This is a part-time role in the Kilauea Area, with shifts typically Monday-Friday afternoons, starting around 1:30 PM and ending around 5:30 PM. Wednesdays begin earlier due to early release schedules. There are no evenings or weekends, and no holiday work required. This schedule is ideal for college students, aspiring teachers, coaches, retirees, parents returning to work, or anyone seeking rewarding part-time employment. Kamaʻāina Kids is Hawai‘i’s largest locally owned nonprofit childcare provider, recognized as a Top Workplace for five years. Requirements

• Energetic and enjoy working with elementary-age children

• Comfortable leading activities and keeping kids engaged
• Positive team players
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must reside in Hawai‘i (or have plans to relocate)

Responsibilities

• Leading games, outdoor play, and recreation
• Planning arts, crafts, STEM, and enrichment activities
• Helping children with homework
• Encouraging teamwork, confidence, and positive behavior
• Building relationships with children and families
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and organized program
