The YWCA of the City of New York (YWCA NYC) is a social justice organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We address issues at the intersection of race, class, and gender, reaching over 3,000 New York City youth annually through leadership training and after-school programs. Our COMPASS and SONYC programs serve elementary and middle school students in diverse communities, fostering youth development and creating pathways for future leaders. The Group Leader, under the guidance of the Program Director and Assistant Director, is responsible for overseeing the development and engagement of students in the after-school program. This role requires a caring, creative individual passionate about student safety and well-being, ensuring all interactions align with the YWCA NYC’s mission. A successful candidate will apply a positive youth-development lens, build strong relationships with participants and families, support students' academic, physical, social, and emotional growth, manage administrative tasks efficiently, implement developmentally appropriate curricula, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
