About The Position
Kamaʻāina Kids, Hawaii’s largest locally-owned non-profit childcare provider and a five-time Top Workplace winner, is seeking energetic and caring individuals to join their Wailuku 'ohana. This role focuses on helping elementary-aged keiki (children) grow, learn, and have enjoyable afternoons. The position is part-time, located in Wailuku, and offers a pay rate of $18–$21 per hour with benefits for part-time employees. Requirements
- Genuine enjoyment of being around children and helping them succeed.
- Ability to be a team player, showing up on time with a positive attitude.
- Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED (select student aide roles available for those under 18).
- Reliable commute to the site (Wailuku or Waihe'e Elementary School).
Responsibilities
- Lead groups of keiki (ages 5–10) through games, arts & crafts, and outdoor play.
- Help with homework and encourage positive behavior.
- Ensure a secure and organized environment using 'Active Supervision'.
- Collaborate with a team of leaders to run a smooth program.
- Provide individualized support and encouragement for a student (for the 1:1 Group Leader role).
