About The Position
Kamaʻāina Kids is Hawaii’s largest locally-owned non-profit childcare provider, recognized as a Top Workplace for five consecutive years. They are seeking energetic and caring individuals to join their Waianae 'ohana and help elementary-aged keiki grow, learn, and have enjoyable afternoons. This role is specifically located at Nanaikapono Elementary School.
Requirements
- Has a heart for kids: You genuinely enjoy being around children and helping them succeed.
- Is a Team Player: You show up on time and bring a positive attitude.
- Is Ready to Lead: You are 18+ with a high school diploma or GED (select student aide roles available for those under 18!).
- Lives near Waianae: You can reliably commute to our site (Nanaikapono Elementary School).
Responsibilities
- Lead groups of keiki (ages 5–10) through games, arts & crafts, and outdoor play.
- Help with homework and encourage positive behavior.
- Use "Active Supervision" to ensure a secure and organized environment.
- Collaborate with a team of leaders to run a smooth program.
- Provide individualized support and encouragement for a student in the program (for the 1:1 Group Leader role).
