About The Position

Sticky Fingers Cooking is seeking enthusiastic part-time After School Children's Enrichment Cooking Instructors in the Wheat Ridge/Arvada area. This role focuses on cultivating culinary curiosity in kids, teaching them about cooking, nutrition, and healthy eating habits. The position offers flexibility with classes typically held on weekdays between 1-5 PM, requiring instructor availability starting at 2 PM. Sticky Fingers Cooking provides all necessary tools, training, and recipes, fostering a fun, hands-on, dynamic learning environment for children aged 3-18.

Requirements

  • Experienced in working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
  • Available to teach 1 hour classes (on campus 90+ mins) at least 2 days a week between 2-5 PM, Mondays- Fridays.
  • Must be available beginning at 2pm.
  • Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8-14 kids.
  • Must arrive on campus 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time.
  • Able to commit to teaching sessions that run 6-12 weeks.
  • Willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs to store and transport materials.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive.
  • All employees must undergo a fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Hands-On Cooking Classes: Teach kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy, exciting recipes from around the world.
  • Spark Creativity: Introduce kids to new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
  • Stay Organized: Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up fun, safe kitchen environments.
  • Be the Face of Fun: Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.
  • Travel to different schools in your area to bring "the kitchen" to kids.
  • Teach essential cooking skills, food safety, and the history and culture behind each dish.
  • Foster creativity and confidence in children.
