About The Position

The After School Care role provides a safe and orderly environment for students after school. The employee actively supervises and monitors students, helps with homework, supports appropriate behavior, and follows the schedule and expectations set by the Director. The role requires respectful, firm, and fair interactions with students, communication with students and staff, promptness, and flexibility.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Enjoys working with children.
Strong communication skills with students and staff.
Flexibility to change.
Promptness.
Manage students in a firm and fair manner.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with students is preferred.

Responsibilities

Actively supervise and monitor students at all times.
Help students with homework, which is the priority.
Use team-building activities among students.
Follow school behavior expectations and the schedule provided by the Director.
Ensure students are never left unattended and contact the Director for relief when needed.
Gather needed supplies before students are released.
Share concerns and incidents with the Director before the end of the workday.
Obtain the Director’s approval for activities that deviate from the assigned schedule.
Notify the Director as soon as possible when running late or absent.
Log in and out at scheduled times, and log out before leaving early.
Apply school-time classroom rules while students are in classrooms.
Limit restroom trips to no more than two students at a time.
Do not sit while monitoring students outside.
Release students only when they are called for.
Clean the classroom and put chairs up before taking students outside or leaving for the day.
