About The Position

The Co-Curricular programs at Great Hearts Academies include After-School Athenaeum and Summer Programs. The duties of the Assistant Campus Coordinator include providing managerial and operational support to the Campus Coordinator. This is a 12-month, .6-time (24 hours weekly), non-benefits-eligible position, reporting to the Campus Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others.
  • They must demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people.
  • They will possess requisite experience in the field of liberal arts and/or education, as well as experience with children and children’s programming.
  • Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
  • May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a licensed program and meet the qualifications of Director Designee in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Child Care Licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality after-school and summer programs.
  • Assist with operational and administrative tasks such as completion of paperwork, ordering supplies, curriculum prep and implementation, staff training, marketing efforts, and other tasks as directed.
  • Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
  • Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
  • Maintain licensing compliance in all areas of program operations.
  • Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior.
  • Escalate incident reports and significant events to Campus Coordinator.
  • Substitute in classroom as needed.
  • Act on behalf of Campus Coordinator in their absence.
  • Adhere to Great Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives.
  • Attend meetings at home office and other local business locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
