The Metis Nation– Saskatchewan (MN–S) is the government that represents Métis citizens in Saskatchewan. For many Métis citizens living in rural, remote and urban areas, accessing necessary medical care can be challenging. The MN–S Medical Travel Assistance Program (MTAP) helps registered Métis citizens requiring medical, cancer or dialysis appointments outside their home communities. The program offers support such as reimbursement of fuel costs, accommodation support and food allowances. The purpose of the program is to serve low-income citizens attending and receiving medical treatment(s). The After-Hours MTAP Support Worker will assist citizens calling to the program after-hours and ensure all questions and inquiries are received in a timely manner.
